1.
Roll a 1 inch ball of white clay, flatten down to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut a 3/8 by 3/8 inch square from middle of white clay disk. This will be your pages. |

2.
With green clay, or color of your choice, roll a 1 inch ball. Now roll it into an oval and flatten to about 1/8 inch thick or thinner, this is going to be the book cover. Cut a rectangle 1/2 inch by 1 inch. |

3.
Dampen the inside of green rectangle slightly with paint brush and very little water. |

4.
Set the small square of white, pages, just right of center on the green cover. Now fold up the loose side of cover, just like closing a book! |

5. With needle tool, make a shallow indent from top to bottom of cover along the left side, where the hinge part of the cover would be. You can flip back the edge of book to make it look well read! |

6. With the needle tool and a drilling motion drill hole from top to bottom and repeat, bottom to top. Now let it dry! |

7. You are now ready to use your book as a bead to decorate anything you wish! You can add a title to your book after it is dry with a fine line marlker or jell pen. Try making books of different colors and titles. How about a little black book, address book or dairy? |
